Este texto encaminha um debate acerca dos marcos teóricos utilizados para a análise dos movimentos sociais rurais contemporâneos. A partir desta reflexão, busca indicativos significativos da produção teórica específica sobre as ações coletivas e os movimentos sociais das últimas décadas na América Latina. Analisa sua apreensão pelos mediadores políticos e a adequação de sua incorporação nas ações coletivas. Finalmente, a partir desta avaliação, encaminha sugestões para uma nova agenda de pesquisa sobre os processos políticos no mundo rural.

THEORETICAL LANDMARKS FOR UNDERSTANDING RURAL COLLECTIVE ACTIONS


This paper discusses the theoretical frameworks that have been used for the analyses of contemporary rural social movements. Following this reflection, it searches for relevant examples of the specific theoretical production related to rural collective action and social movements, from recent decades, in Latin America. It analyses the adoptation of these theories by political mediators and the adequacy of their incorporation in collective action. Finally, from this evaluation, a new agenda for the research of political processes in the rural world is suggested.
