Apresentam-se os antecedentes, os pressupostos teóricos e os alvos da investigação, que têm como objeto a comparação das reconfigurações identitárias e de nacionalidades atuais, que se dão no contexto das migrações internacionais envolvendo Portugal, Brasil e Estados Unidos. São focalizados, entre outros aspectos, as formas de desterritorialização e reterritorialização, as estratégias exclusão e inclusão e as ambigüidades resultantes da coexistência entre o discurso imperial português e a vivência atual da transnacionalidade européia, que repercutem tanto nas experiências dos migrantes quanto nos discursos e políticas de Estado.

GLOBALIZATION, OLD IMAGINARY AND IDENTITY RECONFIGURATIONS: THE PATHS OF A COMPARATIVE RESEARCH

This paper presents the background, the support theory and the research goals, having as object the comparison between identity reconfigurations and today’s nationalities, which take place within the context of the international migrations involving Portugal, Brazil and the United States. Among other aspects, it also focuses on the forms of de-territorialization and re-territorialization, exclusion and inclusion strategies as well as on the ambiguities which are reflected both in the migrant experiences and in the State discourses and policies, as a result of the coexistence of the Portuguese imperial discourse and the present experience of European transnationality.
